Gaming Room Schedule 2011
Our gaming room hours are Saturday 9:30am – 9:00pm and Sunday 10:00am – 5:00pm.
All gaming is in Shaw in the Northwest Rooms. Unfortunately, due to limited space, we are only able to bring tabletop gaming and workshops this year. But for 2012, we’re planning on console and pc-gaming as well.
9:30 AM-12:30 PM — Mystery Box Game Design Challenge
We give you a box of game parts, then you and your group work together to create the next great tabletop game under the tutelage of pro game designers. This workshop teaches you how to approach making a game from play mechanics to game principles. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. Visit the Game Room for details.
5:00-9:00 PM — Superhero/Villain Mask Making Workshop
Expert mask maker, Brideen Baker, demonstrates how to put your best face forward by creating masks for dress-up, costuming, or running superheroine-type errands. Get tips on turning a plain masquerade mask into a visually stunning masterpiece. This workshop is suitable for all ages. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. There is a $5 materials fee (CASH ONLY) for this workshop.
10:00 AM-12:30 PM — Game Bazaar!
One gamer’s trash is another gamer’s treasure. Bring your games of all types to the Game Room and trade in those achievements for new challenges. Trade your tabletop, card, and console games 1 for 1, 2 for 2, etc. Please be sure your games are in good and working condition. If you know pieces are missing, donate it to next year’s Mystery Box Design Challenge!
10:00 AM-5:00 PM — Learn to Paint Miniatures
Join legendary miniature painter, Meg Maples (Staff Painter at Privateer Press), as she walks you through the finer points of painting miniatures for your tabletop and role playing games. Your painted miniature is an awesome GeekGirlCon souvenir! Check the Game Room for more details.
