Accessibility

We want to make sure that GeekGirlCon is a great experience filled with excitement, education, and fun for all. We strive to create an event that works for every attendee—we think inclusively about the range of our attendees needs, employ the best practices to continually review our spaces, improve as we are able, and learn from our mistakes.

All public areas, lobbies, exhibit halls, and meeting rooms within the WSCC are ADA accessible. Some more of the accessibility features that you’ll find at GeekGirlCon include:

  • The Introvert Alley: If you need to take a step away from the buzz and excitement of the con, visit the Introvert Alley! Located on Yakima Level 1, the Introvert Alley is a quiet space to decompress for a few minutes, take a deep breath, and recharge.
  • Gender-Inclusive Bathrooms
  • Private nursing area: Located on Chelan Level 2.
  • ASL Interpreters: For more information, please visit our Info booth or visit our Accessibility page.
  • Elevator Priority

Make sure to read a little more about the features and resources that will be available over the weekend—it’s extremely important to us that GeekGirlCon is a safe and comfortable environment for everyone!

Panels and Workshops

Each year our programming content is a mix of community-organized submissions and staff-curated content, including content featuring industry guests. Look for panels on a variety of topics, as well as workshops to get hands-on. Check out our programming schedule for GeekGirlCon ’19

This year, we’ll be hosting two rooms filled to the brim with your favorite games. To optimize your gaming experience, we’ll have one room dedicated to tabletop and one specifically for video games.

This weekend, one of my major highlights was finally sharing my favorite event of the year with my mom. Shes always supported my cosplay and creative projects and this was a major step on her part to show that. Even thought it’s not her element, she made a major step to show her support. And in my turn to show support for her since she did this big step we’re now training for my first 5k! . . . #GeekGirlCon #geekgirlcon2018 #geekgirlcon18 #pearl #cosplay #pearlcosplay #sucosplay #stevenuniversecosplay #stevenuniverse #pastpearlcosplay #homeworldpearlcosplay #crystalgemscosplay #transcosplayer #autisticcosplayer #disabledcosplayer #pnwcosplayer #cosplayfamily
