GeekGirlCONLINE is going strong, and we hope you’re having as much fun with it as we are! This weekend we’re back with one of my favorite themes: Arts and Lit! Here’s some of the great content we have in store:
This post contains media recommendations that may not be suitable for all audiences!
Autumn provides the perfect time of year to snuggle up indoors and enjoy your favorite television shows. There are many shows out there which you can watch on warm fall evenings. If you’ve been away from the television for most of the summer, here are five shows you should consider catching up on this autumn.
Gilmore Girls
If you haven’t binged out on Gilmore Girls, you need to get to it. This show features two leading ladies, Lorelai and Rory. This mother-daughter duo lives in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, where it always seems like there is autumn weather. This show is a mix of comedy and drama. You’ll get to experience the friendships and new acquaintances of Stars Hollow as Lorelai runs the town’s bed and breakfast.
Grey’s Anatomy
We’re sure that you’ve at least seen one episode of this extremely popular show. Grey’s Anatomy is a drama series that centers around the professional and personal lives of five surgical interns and their acting supervisors. With 16 seasons under their belt, you’ll never run out of episodes to watch.
Breaking Bad
One of the best tv shows on Netflix right now is Breaking Bad. This series is a mix of crime, thriller, and drama. It centers around a high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. To secure the financial future of his family, he turns to manufacturing and selling methamphetamine. Starting Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, this show has a very talented cast that perfectly showcases the main character’s transformation from a soft-spoken guy to a Scarface personality.
Schitt’s Creek
This series starts with a family going through a situation many fear: poverty. The formally-rich power couple find themselves suddenly broke. Johnny, a former video store magnate, and Moira, his former soap opera wife, are left to head off to Schitt’s Creek. This small town was bought by the Roses in their glory days as a joke. But now they find themselves along with their two overly-pampered children facing their new poverty-stricken chapter.
American Horror Story
If you find yourself wanting to throw a little horror into your weekend hours, then American Horror Story is the show for you. This show revolves around the Harmons, a small family of three that moved from Boston to the great city of Los Angeles. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize the home they just moved into is actually haunted. Demonic creatures test the lines of reality with the Harmons, who try to cope with their new residence. As the days get shorter and the temperature gets colder, snuggling up in front of the television is a great pastime for the whole family. The five above are just a few of the best TV shows on Netflix. We’re sure once you get started watching a couple of episodes, you’ll soon find yourself binge-watching all weekend long.

Each year, our team works with a new artist to create custom GeekGirlCon merch for the con. Most things about this year are different, but we do have an amazing merch artist for you to meet: Ragon Dickard!
To give y’all a better picture of the person who created the works of art that are this year’s designs, I asked Ragon some questions about her background, art, and surviving quarantine.
So read on to learn all about Ragon, and when you’re done, check out our 2020 merch here.
Meet Ragon, everybody! [Image Description: Headshot of Ragon. She’s white and has short curly brown hair. She’s smiling brightly and looking at the camera. She has a septum piercing and apple earrings (of her own design!). She’s wearing a striped black and white shirt.]
