Whilst thou art journeying through GGC, we charge thee to seek out Agents of GGC and earn their seal for completing various tasks.
The rules of this quest are simple–complete the tasks, find nearby GGC Agents, and have them stamp thine GeekGirlCon QUEST page in the GGC program. Each stamp will gain thee one entry into a prize drawing. If thou completeth all six tasks, thou shalt be rewarded with a GGC avatar pin! Present thy collected stamps to the good people at the GGC QUEST Table (located next to the Info Booth on level Yakima) to redeem them for drawing entries.

Though tasks may be completed in any order, they are laid out for explanation thus:
A seal can be earned by attending any panel at GGC 2019.
A journey to the Game Floor to play a game of thoust choosing shall be rewarded with a seal.
Attending any workshop or meetup shall reveal another seal.
A post on social media with #GGC19 wilst earn thee another seal from the good people of the GGC QUEST Table once shown.
For the adventurous and inquisitive, a seal can be found by conducting an experiment in the DIY Science Zone.
A last seal can be uncovered at the GGC QUEST table by completing the Con survey, for we sincerely appreciate any feedback thou hast to give. This task comes with the added reward of a GGC avatar pin!
It is prophesied that the drawings shalst be held at the SassyBlack Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, and at the Cosplay Contest at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Thou must be present to win!
Now, I implore thee! Go forth and quest! Fun, adventure, and prizes await!

I don’t know about you, but one of my absolute favorite things about GeekGirlCon is seeing the amazing feats of our cosplayers. Each year, I look forward to seeing everyone’s craftsmanship and artistry—it’s truly amazing to see what you’ve spent hours stitching, building.
If you are a cosplayer and attending GeekGirlCon ‘19 this November, we want to see your best work. Join us on the mainstage for our Cosplay Contest and our Kids’ Cosplay Celebration!
You can submit your entry online right now! Whether you’ve been hard at work preparing your costume or are eager to get started, we want to see you strut your stuff.
Calling all cosplayers (and aspiring cosplayers)! If you’re 13+ years old, submit your application now. Please note that all minors will need to be accompanied by an adult during the contest.
For our mini-geeks, join us for the Kids’ Cosplay Celebration! To join in on the fun, you must be at least 3 years old and no older than 13, and your application needs to be filled out by a parent or legal guardian. All Kids’ Cosplay Celebration contestants must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the event and must be able to cross the stage by themselves (while our tiniest cosplayers are adorable, no babes in arms). Please note that participation in the Kid’s Cosplay Celebration is not guaranteed.
Prizes will be awarded for achievements in craftsmanship and stage presence by a panel of judges who will be announced at a later time!
Have a question? No problem! Reach out to tk@geekgirlcon.com with any questions or inquires about your submission.
We will be accepting submissions from now until November 8.
Gearing up for PAX West this weekend? So are we! Here are a couple of ways to add some GeekGirlCon to your PAX plans:
The GeekGirlCon Booth
This will be the SIXTH year GeekGirlCon has had a booth in the PAX Diversity Lounge. We’ll be there all weekend long, so plan some time to stop by and get your DISCOUNTED passes, shop our merch, or just say hi! Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Diversity Lounge is a laid-back, inclusive space where you can discover a ton of nonprofits that support underrepresented areas of geekdom.
The Golden Ticket
Yep, we’re bringing back the Golden Ticket scavenger hunt for its third year! You could win fabulous prizes by finding one of our Golden-Ticket-holding GeekGirlCon staffers. Keep an eye on our Twitter each day of PAX for hints on who to look for when and where. Once you find a staffer and get your ticket, take it to our booth in the Diversity Lounge to claim your prize!

One of the many aspects of GeekGirlCon that sets it apart from other conventions is its commitment to welcoming geeks of all ages. We don’t just tolerate our kid attendees, we design the weekend with their interests in mind. Whether that means keeping our 18+ programming scheduled in the evenings or setting up a kids-only cosplay contest, we’re serious about keeping our evolution reactive to the needs of even the littlest con-goers.
In terms of kids programming, the now-classic GeekGirlCon event we’re proudest of is our DIY Science Zone. This year will mark the Zone’s eighth iteration, with each con bringing bigger and better additions. Part of the reason we’re able to keeping growing and changing when it comes to this special-ist of events is because we’ve got a community that shares our values and knows that accessible science education needs funding.
In case you missed Teal’s announcement about it—or in case you saw it and, like me, just have a bad habit of meaning to put things on your calendar and then forgetting to actually do it—GeekGirlCon Trivia Night is this Sunday, September 9, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mox Boarding House in Bellevue! Bring a team or join one when you get there and show off that geeky brain of yours in front of people who will appreciate it!

Tickets for players of all ages are $7 each online or at the door. The fabulous prizes include a $100 Mox Boarding House gift card, passes to GeekGirlCon 2018, and more. Hope to see you there!

It’s officially September, and you know what that means! Fall is right around the corner, and as much as we’ll mourn the days of bright blue (or smoke-filled, ugh) skies, carefree days spent outside, and plentiful iced beverages, autumn holds its own special allure for those of us who prefer our temps a little less extreme and our pursuits a little more indoors. Without further ado, take a peek at what’s coming up this month!
Pacific Science Center 200 2nd Ave N, Seattle, Washington 98109
Start the fall off on a high note, and check out the science behind sound – For the first part of September, we’re spotlighting music – how instruments work, what happens to your brain when you hear sound, and more. Our ensemble of hands-on activities and demonstrations are a great way to get your brain tuned up and ready for fall. This event is included admission (separate tickets are required for IMAX and Laser Dome shows).
South Lake Union Discovery Center 101 Westlake Ave N, Seattle, Washington 98109
