GeekGirlCon Movie Night!
For Immediate Release: 12/26/2010
GeekGirlCon to Honor Comic Legend and Raise Convention Funds at Grand Illusion Cinema
Seattle, WA, January 8th and 12th – GeekGirlCon will be showing the documentary “Grant Morrison: Talking To Gods” and holding a raffle at the Grand Illusion Cinema at 7pm. Raffle proceeds and twenty percent of ticket sales will be donated to GeekGirlCon itself.
The documentary, released in October 2010, explores the 30 year career of one of the most influential comic book writers of our day. “Grant Morrison is no doubt one of comics’ leading writers. Most fans either view him as an innovative genius or as completely insane; either way, this film is sure to be highly entertaining and insightful,” says Erica McGillivray, GeekGirlCon Marketing Director and avid comic-reader. Seating is limited to a mere 70 seats. Tickets will be sold at the door for a $10 admission. A raffle will also be held in order to further raise funds for the upcoming 2011 convention.
GeekGirlCon aims to celebrate and explore the female contributions and involvement in Geek Culture. It is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers, both women and men, with a passion for math, the sciences, fantasy and science fiction, comics, gaming, and more.
