GeekGirlCONLINE Weekend 1 | Science and Technology

We are so excited to finally share details with you about our inaugural digital event starting this weekend!

GeekGirlCONLINE is just around the corner, kicking off on October 1 with the opening of our Virtual Expo Hall. Each following weekend through Sunday, November 1st will be filled with panels, workshops, and other live presentations on Twitch. Each week will also follow a unique, fun theme—starting with Science & Technology on October 3 and 4!

Panels & Activities

The DIY Science Zone has historically been one of GeekGirlCon’s most popular events. While we can’t be together downtown this year, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re bringing the Zone to you! Tune in on Saturday, October 3, at 1:00 pm to Twitch and watch a plethora of science-oriented fun for all ages

On Sunday, October 4, at 1:00 pm, tune in for our first digital panel Fantastic Beasts and How to Save Them with PJ Beaven.

Our full programming schedule is available online now: https://geekgirlcon.com/schedule/

Using Twitch

All of our digital events will be hosted on Twitch!

We encourage you to follow us at https://www.twitch.tv/geekgirlcon so you can watch and chat with fellow GeekGirlCon attendees! Please note that while you must be 13 or older to sign up for a Twitch account, most events will be reposted on YouTube afterward. While you are able to watch the streams without a Twitch account, you will not be able to comment along and chat with your fellow geeks.

Featured Contributors

We will be joined by our first 2020 Featured Contributor, Dr. Cali Cyrus, on Sunday, October 4, at 2:30 pm.

Dr. Kali Cyrus is a psychiatrist, assistant professor at Johns Hopkins Medicine, and a diversity consultant. Learn more about Dr. Kali and her journey in our forthcoming Q&A, which will be featured on the GeekGirlCon blog!

Inside the Virtual Expo Hall & GeekGirlCONLINE Merch

Starting tomorrow, October 1, you will be able to access our Virtual Expo Hall! All sorts of artists, artisans, and vendors will be selling their wares in one convenient location.

Every year we host a guest artist and sell unique GGC merch featuring their artwork. We’re thrilled to announce that despite our move to the digital realm this year, we’ll be featuring special GeekGirlCONLINE merch in our online store, also starting tomorrow!

A Quick Peek at Week 2

All of our comic book fans have plenty to look forward to during the second weekend of GeekGirlCONLINE. Join us on October 10 and 11 for even more activities and interactive fun!

From the GeekGirlCon staff to you, we thank you for your patience and resilience during these trying times. As always, your support means the world to us—without it, we wouldn’t be nearly as successful as we are today. We’re honored to have a community of dedicated, passionate geeks by our side, and we hope you enjoy what we’ve put together for you. We’re also hopeful that we’ll reunite this time next year to officially celebrate GeekGirlCon’s 10th anniversary in the heart of downtown Seattle. Until then, we’ll meet a little closer to home. Together, we will get through this.

There’s plenty more to look forward to, so follow along on social, and we’ll see you online!
