Who are you and what do you do at GeekGirlCon?

Hiya! My name is Rabecca (aka latinageek) and I am a designer for GeekGirlCon.
What do you do for your day job/when you’re not being awesome as a GeekGirlCon staffer?
My day job is Embedded QA Tester at Ember Entertainment and I am a volunteer Cheerleader for Cheer Seattle.
Believe it or not, beyond that I also am a freelance artist and I do Let’s Plays every Sunday for my channel LatinaGeek!
Have you always considered yourself a geek?
I think that I was just drawn to it at such a young age, 9 years old watching Sailor Moon before Catholic school. I think it wasn’t until college where it occurred to me I had been such a huge techie/nerd that I actually embraced it and found my tribe.
What sort of geeky things do you like to do in your spare time?
I think lately my guilty pleasure has been fan theories with series likes Steven Universe, Dragonball Z, or Bob’s Burgers but I love watching anime on crunchyroll and if I do need a new computer it has to be put together to make it legit.
What are you currently geeking out about?

Attack on Titan season two is LIT FAM! I am so excited that it’s back. I just bought the anthology and it’s absolutely gorgeous with everyone’s depictions of what the universe is like. Also, Game of Thrones is coming back in the summer which I am practically jumping out of my seat about.
Why do you think Attack on Titan is awesome?
I’ve always drooled over excellent story telling, I’ve been writing fanfics since I was 14 and to immerse myself in a world where the story drives the whole show is absolutely thrilling.

Who do you think would be interested in Attack on Titan?
I think that Dragonball Z lovers who need that extra backstory and action would love this series.
What other things are you interested in/do you do in your spare time?
Believe it or not sometimes I go outside, no but, really. I love hiking and being in the great outdoors. I am a huge proponent of self care so being out with pals and breathing in the woods is great for anxiety.
