By Public Transportation

Due to construction projects happening in the area, transit options have changed near the Convention Center and the Arch.

Bus

Bus routes are semi-limited near the Convention Center. To plan your route by bus, we recommend using  King County Metro’s Trip Planner.

Light Rail

Link Light Rail is a reliable option for public transit to the Seattle Convention Center. Line 1 will take you to Westlake Station, which is located a few blocks southwest from SCC’s Arch.

From Westlake Station: Exit to 5th Avenue and Pine. From Pine Street, walk to 5th Avenue. Walk one block South on 5th Avenue to Pike Street. Take a left and walk East for three blocks under the first skybridge. The Arch will be on your left at 8th and Pike.

Make sure to double check your route by using the Sound Transit Trip Planner. You can also check out the route map and schedule for Line 1.

Metro bus fares are $2.75 for adults, $1.50 for youth 6-18, $1.00 for seniors, and free for kids under 6 (with adult), though you should check the fare schedule for full details. Some riders may qualify for reduced rates via the Regional Reduced Fare PermitSound Transit fares for the Light Rail vary for one-way adult fares, ranging from $2.25 to $3.50 depending on how far you travel.

By Train

If arriving by Amtrak, you will be at the King Street Station (303 South Jackson Street). From there, you can easily cross the tracks to the International District Station in the Seattle Transit Tunnel.

From Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

While you can certainly opt to take a taxi, shuttle, or limo or rent a car from the airport to GeekGirlCon (direct them to the Seattle Convention Center downtown — we are right across the street — or 8th and Pike downtown Seattle), we suggest using Seattle’s public transportation, specifically the Link Light Rail.

The Link Light Rail is located on the fourth floor of the Airport Garage. Trains arrive and depart on the platform level of the station. The covered, level walkway to the Airport Terminal is one level down on the mezzanine. The trip from the airport to downtown Seattle takes around 40 minutes.

For information about schedules and hours for light rail service, check the Link Light Rail page. You can also review the Link Light Rail fares.

Ride the Link Light Rail to Westlake Station located at 4th Avenue and Pine Street in Seattle and take a short 4-5 block walk from the Westlake Station to the Arch. See the Light Rail section above for more detailed directions from the station.
