The Director of Marketing oversees all GeekGirlCon marketing efforts, including press releases, GeekGirlCon.com, online and offline media, design, copy, and merchandising, as well as the actual marketing team. The Manager of Digital Experience leads and directs the GeekGirlCon website and supporting team. Individual Gifts Coordinator
GeekGirlCon’s Individual Gifts Coordinator is in charge of acquiring individual sponsors for the organization, as well as organizing and maintaining details of individual donations. This person needs to be enthusiastic and passionate for GeekGirlCon’s cause. Not only do they have to be self motivated, but they also need to motivate others. This position requires excellent communication skills, a keen eye for details, and a creative drive for thinking up ways to fundraise and cultivate support.
Copywriters are expected to produce two to three blog posts a month, ranging from informative announcements about GeekGirlCon news to personal thoughts about a character to reporting on geeky events around town. Copywriters also attend the con and take copious notes on as many panels as they can attend, which later become panel recap posts. Our team members are relatively autonomous and independent, although we collaborate and meet regularly. If you love to write, research, and edit, apply and join our team today!
