Marketing Project Manager [Volunteer Position]

Job Summary
The Marketing Project Manager is a dynamic, organized, and creative individual who will work closely with the Directors of Marketing to oversee and execute various marketing initiatives for GeekGirlCon. From print and online campaigns to public relations and photographer coordination, this role plays a pivotal part in promoting GeekGirlCon's mission and brand.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate at-con and pre-con marketing programs including Con Signage design, copy, print, and delivery / setup, volunteer photographer coordination, assignment and photobooth setup, and media advertisement with Seattle area news agencies and outlets.
- Oversee the approval process for marketing copy and graphics, providing and gathering feedback, getting sign off from partner teams, and ensure consistency and quality.
- Monitor ongoing marketing projects, tracking progress and milestones to ensure timely execution and alignment with GeekGirlCon’s plan and timeline.
- Lead cross-departmental projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing, fostering collaboration and synergy among team members.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Project Manager or Project Coordinator
- Self-starter with the ability to make things happen with little direction
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate GeekGirlCon’s brand message to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in handling confidential information and managing time-sensitive materials with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid grasp of grammar and writing conventions to maintain quality standards across marketing materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge and experience working with our diverse communities, empowerment, diversity and inclusion.
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Notion, Discord
What It Means to Volunteer as GeekGirlCon Staff
- GeekGirlCon staff positions are all volunteer, non-paid positions.
- Attendance remotely (or in-person, during non-pandemic times) for staff and departmental meetings is required.
- Must maintain prompt and professional correspondence.
- Most work is conducted over email and with in-person meetings in the Seattle area.
- Between 5-10 hours per week of work is required for this role (including meetings, etc).
- The staff is a team of highly dedicated, geeky, and passionate volunteers; it’s a lot of hard work, but an amazing experience with lots of opportunity to help build GeekGirlCon for the future!
