Printed Program Designer [Volunteer Position]

Job Summary

The Printed Program Designer is responsible for managing the production of the printed program, including ensuring timely task completion and delivery of assets.

Reports To

Director of Marketing

Responsibilities

  • Manages communication between project stakeholders
  • Ensures timely delivery of assets such as content schedule, copy, and design elements
  • Communicates all deadlines and any deadline adjustments to organization
  • Manages collection, sharing, and centralized storage of all project assets
  • Promote and manage ad sales for both printed programs and digital displays
  • Guarantees review of all assets to printer on schedule
  • Manages the creation and production of fresh-sheet , which includes any information that did not make it into program before print deadline

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Superb time and project management skills, including task prioritization
  • Ability to manage a project with little direct supervision
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team
  • High degree of flexibility
  • Prior project management experience strongly preferred

What It Means to Volunteer as GeekGirlCon Staff

  • GeekGirlCon staff positions are all volunteer, non-paid positions.
  • Attendance remotely (or in-person, during non-pandemic times) for staff and departmental meetings is required.
  • Must maintain prompt and professional correspondence.
  • Most work is conducted over email and with in-person meetings in the Seattle area.
  • Between 5-10 hours per week of work is required for this role (including meetings, etc). Position begins training in May
  • Project is completed in September/October
  • The staff is a team of highly dedicated, geeky, and passionate volunteers; it’s a lot of hard work, but an amazing experience with lots of opportunity to help build GeekGirlCon for the future!
