Welcome to GeekGirlCon 2011!

GeekGirlCon welcomes you!

GeekGirlCon welcomes you!

As we open the doors for the first-ever GeekGirlCon, we signify October 8, 2011 as a landmark day for geeks. Created by geeky women for geeky women, GeekGirlCon strives to serve a diverse spectrum of geeks and nerds. You may be a Trek fanatic; an amazing fx artist; a Linux coder; a scientist, mad or otherwise; a hardcore gamer; a fanfic writer; a LARPer; a genre reader; or a casual fan of something geeky. All self-identified geeks are welcome here to honor and celebrate the contributions and interests of women geeks—regardless of gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, alien species, number of twitter followers, or other identifier heaped upon us by society.

So come on in and let yourself bask in the geekiness. Learn something new and meet someone new. GeekGirlCon, the event, may happen just once a year, but we’re creating a network and community to support us the rest of the year. As Sarah Conner says, “There is no fate, but what we make.” We can change the landscape for geek girls, and it starts now. By adding your unique geekery, you have helped make this dream a reality.

Enjoy your time here now and watch for exciting news about the 2012 con and all our other events happening throughout the year!

Live Long and Prosper,
Erica McGillivray

See all you GeekGIrls today! We bring San Diego sunshine and lots of surfing tips! OK, no surfing tips, but Belle will give you the steampunk surf report, I’m sure!

Thank you for throwing this event! It was amazing. And I can’t wait for next year. … When is it going to be??

    • Hi Stephanie,

I’m so glad that you had a wonderful time at the convention. Currently, we do not have a space rented for 2012. As soon as the ink is dry on a contract for a space (which our team has already been on the hunt for), we will let everyone know.
